VCH carbon neutral for second year in a row

Every June, we report our greenhouse gas emissions and carbon-reducing actions to BC’s Climate Action Secretariat for the Carbon Neutral Action Report (CNAR). The big news in this year’s Carbon Neutral Action Report (CNAR) is that Vancouver Coastal Health was carbon neutral in 2011, for the second year in a row. We achieved this by taking actions to reduce our green house gas emissions and by purchasing carbon offsets.

Drs. Martin Gleave and Colin Collins part of new pan-Canadian prostate cancer network

Drs. Martin Gleave and Colin Collins from the Vancouver Prostate Centre at VGHare part of this new pan-Canadian network of prostate cancer researchers. Over the next four years, the group will work to identify new ways to determine what forms of prostate cancer require immediate treatment and which don’t, as well as how to better predict which patients following surgery or radiation treatment are at risk of their cancer progressing.
