The North Shore Baby Friendly Committee is hosting the 16th annual NS Breastfeeding Challenge on September 30th in the Atrium at the HOpe Centre. This year, the theme is “Sustaining Breastfeeding Together” to highlight that breastfeeding women need support to be successful in their breastfeeding goals. There will be door prizes, food and guest speakers. You can pre-register for the event or drop by!
The goal of a breastfeeding challenge is to raise community awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and show support for breastfeeding mothers in our community.
On September 30, women all across North America will gather for a “fun” challenge to set a record for the most babies breastfeeding in one place at one time. This precedes Breastfeeding Week which occurs from October 1 – 7 in Canada.
