Friday, Nov. 16th is the deadline for nominating someone for this year’s LGH foundation North Shore Health Care Awards for Outstanding Achievement.

Staff, patients and visitors are now able to recycle food leftovers and other organic materials as part of a new program being launched in the LGH Terrace Cafeteria.

Coastal staff forums for Fall 2012 kicked off last week with well-attended group meetings and plenty of discussion and questions around VCH’s True North rollout and other local projects underway.

During the North Shore Connect Days Shoe Drive, North Shore Chronic Disease Services collected 27 boxes of footwear and seven bags of socks! There were many hands that made the shoe drive a success! From volunteers Liz & Bev Parslow, who canvas and collect shoes all year round, to employees and public members who generously contributed shoes and donations.

A VCH-first took place yesterday at St. Mary’s Hospital when staff and physicians across the hospital began using the Scheduling and Registration functions of the new Cerner Millennium system.

LGH Foundation Awards nominations are welcomed and must be in by the Friday, Nov. 16 deadline. Nominate a colleague you feel has gone above and beyond.

Mothers in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Pemberton and Richmond kicked off the 2012 World Breastfeeding Week on September 29. This year’s theme was: Go green – Reduce your footprint and breastfeed your baby.

Staff and local dignitaries assembled today (Thursday, Oct. 11) on the LGH campus to mark the beginning of construction of the HOpe Centre.
