Putting people first is what we do every day, and our efforts are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families. The following letter was written by a grateful husband to our ED and Cardiac Care Unit at VGH.
“On June 18th my wife presented at emergency with the symptoms of pressure on her chest. She received immediate attention from the triage nurse at emergency and excellent care from the emergency room staff. It turned out that she had had a heart attack. On June 19th she had an angiogram and a subsequent angioplasty. Once again she got excellent care and attention.
We would like to thank the staff at VGH emergency for their prompt attention to my wife. We would also like to thank all the staff at the VGH cardiac care unit for the treatment she received. My wife is now in a cardiac rehabilitation program here in Ottawa.”
