A prince’s first steps

And speaking of the recent christening of Great Britain’s youngest Royal…This past summer, Karen May, a Vancouver public health nurse was in London, England the week after Prince George was born. She took along with her a package for the newborn that consisted of signed copies (by our 0-5 Public Health Nurses) of the print health materials – Baby’s Best Chance, Toddlers First Steps and Breastfeeding in the First Three Weeks. She delivered the package with a letter that explained that the materials are what every new parent in BC – including in Prince George – receives.

Subsequently, Karen received a letter on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanking her for the package. Kudos to Karen and the 0-5 South team for truly going above and beyond call of duty in their contact of newborns and their families.
