Your questions can be answered by reading our Q and A page. A full list of winners can be viewed here on the VCH network.
Where does the other half of the “50” go? It goes to the VGH Foundation, to support the funding of equipment for our hospitals and community-based programs. Proceeds from the 2016/2017 ‘Won’ Vancouver 50/50 Staff Lottery meant a contribution of $71,000.00 to the Foundation. The Foundation used that money to purchase a number of items for Vancouver community and acute services. Items purchased to support Community Services include: a van for the Venture program, dopplers for the Youth ICM Team, and comfort kits for the Youth Addictions Residential program. Purchases for Acute Services include lead aprons for Cardiac Cath Lab, portable ceiling lifts for the Hospitalist Unit, bedside suction regulators for ICU, respiratory muscle strength measuring tools for the Pulmonary Function Lab and patient Staxi chairs to support mobility around VGH.
