Finance tips for VCH moms
This past weekend, many of us at VCH celebrated Mother’s Day – a special day honouring a special person in all of our lives. Did you know that more than 80 per cent of the dedicated staff who work at VCH staff are women? Many of these women are mothers or are responsible for the care of their mothers.
“Sometimes these dedicated, caring moms sacrifice taking care of themselves for the sake of their families,” reflects Dr. Stacy Sprague, the executive director of the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). “This workshop is for all of you. It is an opportunity for you to take care of yourself by learning some very practical and helpful information.”
On Monday, June 3rd, the Financial Literacy Counsel (FLC) and EFAP will be holding a workshop: Financial Literacy for Moms. The workshop will provide VCH moms with guidance on wise and responsible financial planning.
“Whether you’re a new mom, a seasoned mom or taking care of your mom, this workshop will have a lot of great information,” says Alphil Guilaran, executive director of the FLC. “The workshop will be a great mix of a number of different, very relevant topics.”
The topics that will be looked at during the workshop include:
