Powell River patient sends thanks to staff and physician through a friend

Dear Dr Donkin,

I am the friend of Jim who was with him in your ER this week. I am writing to tell you that you have the highest respect and regard from him (me too!). He only wished he could have kidnapped you. He was highly impressed watching you at work doing what you do calmly, quietly, skillfully. He has referred back to his moments observing you at work with a form of reverence.

There are two reasons I write this note to you today: First, to say thank you from both of us for being there even though he refused your good advice; Second, to assure you his decision to leave was in no way a to be taken as a lack of respect for you or any member of the staff that did their jobs with extreme professionalism and courtesy.

We will remember our experience at Powell River General with great affection.
