Margaret MacDiarmid appointed to VCH Board
Former BC Minister of Health Dr. Margaret MacDiarmid has been named to the VCH Board.
Dr. MacDiarmid is well known through her time as MLA for Vancouver-Fairview and roles as Minister of Labour, Citizens’ Services and Open Government, Minister of Tourism, Trade and Investment and Minister Responsible for Intergovernmental Relations and Minister of Education and Minister Responsible for Early Learning and Literacy. She brings a wealth of health care knowledge and experience to the Board.
A family physician for over 20 years, she served on the board of the BC Medical Association for 12 years and was president in 2006-2007. Originally from Saskatchewan, Dr. MacDiarmid and her husband moved to B.C. in 1989.
She enjoys golf, bridge, playing piano, kayaking, and treasures the time she spends with family and friends. Dr. MacDiarmid was appointed to the VCH Board in September for a term expiring on December 31, 2015.
