Chinese delegation visits Richmond Hospital
An invitation to deliver a lecture series grew to include a tour of the Child Health Centre (CHC) at Richmond Hospital and may result in a one-year fellowship for a visiting pediatrician.
The Chinese Medical Society contacted Dr. Carolyn Steinberg and asked her to deliver a lecture series on children’s mental health to a visiting group of developmental pediatricians from China. Carolyn, who is Medical Leader, Infant Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Richmond Hospital, Dept of Psychiatry Richmond Early Childhood Mental Health Program and Clinical Associate Professor at UBC, also invited the group to tour the Child Health Centre at Richmond Hospital.
The visiting pediatricians took Carolyn up on her offer and spent yesterday morning touring the CHC and hearing about some of the programs and services provided from Diane Bissenden, Director, Population & Family Health before heading to the auditorium for the lecture.
They must have liked what they saw and heard during their visit as they are interested in sending a pediatrician from China to study with Carolyn for a year’s fellowship.
