“Tremendous act of creativity and generosity”
When we talk about a People First culture, we include not just our staff and physicians, but also the patients we serve and the volunteers who make a selfless choice to serve alongside us. A People First Award was recently presented to the Textile Arts Guild of Richmond, who constructed 100 unique and colorful bed covers for residents of Richmond Lions Manor when they move into their new, temporary home later this year.
The project took approximately one year. The covers will be personally distributed to the residents after the upcoming move, taking into account the interests and preferences of each of them.
This tremendous act of creativity and generosity will help ease the transition of moving in the months ahead and will make the newly renovated Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport feel more like home for its 93 residents. This incredible gesture by the Guild, as well as their ongoing support and expression of caring, exemplifies the act of putting ‘people first’ in our community.
