Shake-Out Drill marked by increased emergency planning awareness

We’d like to thank everyone for participating in the British Columbia Shake-Out BC Drill.

Health Emergency Management BC created a multi-day campaign that addressed issues such as personal preparedness, emergency plans, and hospital plans.

We live in a seismically active area, earthquakes occur frequently.  We’ve been fortunate that we’ve not experienced a large earthquake event that’s caused damage to our communities.  However, the reality  is that we will one day have an earthquake event that will cause damage.

Knowing that we are vulnerable, and that we are critical in the provision of health and aid to our communities, requires that we take action and ensure that we take steps to ensure that we are both prepared at home and at work.  For further information follow the link to the VCH emergency management site.
