Super Villains – Super Heroes – Super HEARTS

The VGH Cardiac Heart Throbs are tops in Big Bike again in 2013!  The Heart Throbs are #1 in BC and Canada in the Health/Fitness/Education Industry category. On May 29, 2013, a super hero and super villain crew of 29 flexed their collective super powers on the Heart & Stroke Big Bike Challenge.  Riders from wards, outpatient clinics, and labs from VGH Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery jumped aboard the event’s 30-person bike to show their spirit and support, and to raise awareness for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

The VGH Cardiac Heart Throbs raised over $17,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, making us the number one fundraising team in Canada amongst 535 registered teams! To add to the excitement and motivation, the friendly annual challenge was made with the St. Paul’s Heart Heroes.

It was a fun-tastic evening and a great team-building exercise. Co-captains Pam Colley and Sherry Mark would like to give kudos to all our supporters and participants!
