Baby, it WAS cold outside

The thermometer dipped below zero last Thursday, December 5th, but Auxilians, staff, physicians and contractors stayed warm inside at the Auxiliary Christmas Tea, mingling with friends and colleagues, thanking the Auxiliary for their generous contributions, and enjoying tasty goodies prepared by Sodexo.

Dermot Kelly kept things moving as MC of the event. Chief Operating Officer Mike Nader recognized and thanked the Auxilians for their many contributions to our community of care, Colleen Kason announced the 201, Dr. Brenda Wagner annouced the six lucky winners of the 2013 Christmas Draw; and Philip Tse provided a non-demominational blessing.

Special thanks to Santa (Scott McCarten) and his elves (Natalie McCarthy and Betty Heng) for handing out smiles and candy canes, and to Santa and Kelly Kietel for singing a wonderful version of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.

Thanks to everyone who made the event such a special treat this year:

•     The many volunteers who decorated the auditorium and atrium. Kudos also go to the team from Facilities and Aramark staff who assisted them.
•     Leanne McPhee and the talented staff at Sodexo for making and serving the delicious treats.

A selection of goodies were also sent to staff working at our other sites across Richmond.
