New Centre for Brain Health open to patients
The first clinics and their associated clinical research teams have moved into the new Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health (CBH). Located next door to the Koerner Pavilion at UBC Hospital (UBCH), the centre is now open to the public and we would appreciate your assistance redirecting lost patients to the new building.
Who’s where in CBH
Old habits die hard. Despite our best efforts, some patients are arriving for their appointment at the old clinic locations. If you see someone who appears lost, please redirect them as follows:
- Movement Disorders Clinic and Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre: 1st floor of CBH
- Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Clinic and associated Clinical Trials: 2nd floor of CBH
- Medical Daycare Clinic: 2nd floor of CBH
- MS Clinic and MS Clinical Trials: 1st floor of CBH (excluding research-related appointments, this clinic is closed until Jan. 13, 2014)
Taking the bridge from Koerner to CBH
A bridge connects CBH with Koerner Pavilion and is open to all foot traffic from 7:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. If you’re redirecting patients across the bridge, please note that the bridge connection from Koerner’s 2nd floor opens to the CBH 3rd floor. Patients will need to take the elevator to the 1st or 2nd floor to reach their appointment. A directory at the elevator will point patients in the right direction.
Please note that we’re finding the bridge door shut and locked at times (an issue we’re working on). If you happen to notice a problem with the bridge door or can’t access the bridge, call the CBH Command Centre at: 604 827-2540.
Hours of operation
The CBH clinical floors (1st and 2nd floors) are open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5 pm. Clinic operating hours remain the same.
Other VCH clinics, as well as clinical trials/clinical research staff, will move into CBH this year. Read VCH News for the latest.
