Whistler visitor gets great care after skiing accident
My name is William M. I tore my achilles tendon while skiing Whistler near the base of the Harmony chair on Wednesday 26 March.
Whistler Mountain: I would like to commend Whistler staff for taking good and expedient care of me. John, with the ski patrol, was particularly helpful and gave me a great toboggan ride to the base of Olympic.
Whistler Health Care Centre: A competent and friendly ambulance staff transferred me to the Whistler Health Care Centre. A busy afternoon was in progress due to the heavy snow conditions on the mountain, but Dr. Fern von der Porten saw me and prescribed a boot with heel lift plus a reference to my preferred surgeon, Dr. Boyer. Given that he has recommended a non-surgical solution, it is important that my foot was in the correct cast from day one, which it was.
So, thank you to all for getting my convalescence of on the “right foot”!
