On May 6, 2014, the Downtown Community Health Centre will be hosting a “Pajama Party” to promote women’s health for women living on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, a particularly vulnerable and marginalized group facing unique challenges in accessing health care.  Most of these women do not have regular cervical or breast cancer screening, a vital step in early detection of potential disease. Our goal is to offer these women a chance to access regular women’s health screening in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. We anticipate about 80-100 women will attend.

To help to support this event, you can purchase one of the T-shirts as shown in the photo. The image on the shirts was co-designed by two participants of our regular “Women’s Night” clinics.  Each T-shirt ordered allows us to purchase an extra one to give to a woman attending the Pajama Party health promotion event. The photo shows the two colors that the can be ordered, and sizes range from extra small to XXL. Shirts are $15.00.
