Concerns raised about patient safety at St. Mary’s Hospital last week have Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) defending the fact they are running over capacity this week. VCH spokesperson Trudi Beutel is quoted.

In a news release distributed Friday, Dr. Anthony Traboulsee, medical director of the UBC Hospital MS Clinic, said the pan-Canadian controlled study will allow health officials to monitor MS patients over a two-year period and obtain scientific evidence on the safety and efficacy of the chronic cerebro-spinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) procedure.
