Whistler resident grateful to local staff and physicians for excellent treatment
Dear Sirs/Madams,
Feeling dreadful on Thursday, May 8 with “fluey” cold/cough and gummed up eyes, I went to the Whistler clinic (Emergency) as my excellent GP, Dr. Kristin Johnston was away.
I was met with the usual friendly cheerfulness at Reception (just like it always is upstairs), directed forthwith to the Nurses’ station and they all swung into action. Dr. Annie Gareau and her team looked after me meticulously; blood pressure, chest X-ray, blood work, ECG and straightforward diagnosis in rapid succession. Dr. Gareau was concerned about the possibility of that “silent killer” – pneumonia.
Anti-biotics and eye drops were prescribed. Dr. Gareau said I’d be better by Sunday (yesterday) and she was spot on.
The Mayo clinic may have more “facilities”, but even they would be pushed to equal the medical staff we “Whistlerites” are lucky enough to have here.
Please will you pass on my grateful thanks.
Best regards,
Brian C.
