IMPORTANT: Changes to Pacific Blue Cross system

As you may be aware of on April 4, 2014, Pacific Blue Cross launched a new health and dental system.

New Pacific Blue Cross ID Cards

As a result of their new health and dental system, you will also receive new ID cards for you and your dependents in the mail. You can expect to receive your new card by mail until that time, please continue to use your current ID card.

There will be no changes to your benefits, coverage, or covered dependents, but you will notice a few changes with your new card, and the claims process:

  • Your policy number will be different. Make sure to show your new card to your dentist or pharmacist, and use this number when making claims.
  • Your dependents’ names will no longer appear on the card. This will not impact their ability to make claims or present the card to dentists or pharmacists. They will be asked to confirm their name and birthdate as they always have.
  • You will not have to give dependent numbers when claiming. If making a claim for a dependent, you will simply identify them by full name, date of birth and relationship to you.
