Whistler resident gives thanks for ‘Mini Mayo Clinic’

Yesterday after a bike ride I pretty well collapsed. Having had a heart attack last October my wife called the ambulance, as I could not get into our car.

Paramedics Dan and Neil arrived pretty quickly and took care of the situation in a very professional – and encouraging – way.

At the Clinic Dr. Kendall and his superb team – nurses Sherry, Ingrid, Shelley, Dawna – and indeed others, took great care of me, and were meticulous as always. My GP, the wonderful Dr. Kristin Johnston, rushed down to see me, as she had heard I was in Emergency.

This morning, as a follow up, Dr. Sally Barrio was quite amazing – and indeed lots of fun too. Most patients are always a bit anxious in a Clinic or Hospital and all the Staff here have the “knack” of putting one at ease.

There probably are clinics and hospitals with staff who have more degrees, more “experience” and so-called “higher qualifications.” But I’d bet the staff in our clinic here would beat them hands-down in the “Caring, Practical and Kindness Stakes.”

I’ve said before it is like a “Mini Mayo Clinic”; nothing has changed. An atmosphere of calm professionalism is very apparent.

I am most grateful – yet again.

Best regards,
