That’s refeshing!
Two staff at Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport recently participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Amanda Hansen, physiotherapist, and Jennifer Sandhu, rehab leisure assistant, had cold water dumped on them earlier this week in the courtyard at Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport after being challenged by a co-worker
They were both inspired to take the challenge because they believe in the good works of the ALS Canada Society and appreciate the need for greater awareness and funds for research and quality of life supports for those suffering from this devastating disease. On a personal level they both have a family friend that has died from ALS.
They said they were excited to do the challenge at Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport since they are blessed to work in such a warm and supportive community. Other staff, residents and their families got involved with the challenge; some cheering them on, filming on phone cameras and two actually pouring the buckets over their heads.
After completing the challenge, the duo challenged a number of other colleagues, who have also taken part. They are also challenging Richmond’s Senior Leadership Team to take the plunge.
