LGH Terrace Cafe new menu interests staff, family members

The new menu of fresh, nutritious and affordable meal choices at the LGH Terrace Cafe won’t be available until Wednesday, Sept. 24 but the new items have staff, LGH visitors and families talking even before the new offerings are available. The new menu items are going to be prepared from scratch by our chefs using local ingredients and are designed to help customers live a healthy and active lifestyle and align with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Healthy Eating Guidelines for Retail Food Services.

What are the VCH Healthy Eating Guidelines?

VCH is committed to supporting the health and well-being of its staff, physicians, patients and visitors. Food is an intimate and integral part of people’s well-being and the way VCH and our partners provide food to retail food service customers can effectively promote health and wellness. Through the implementation of these Healthy Eating Guidelines for Retail Food Services, healthy food choices will be made available and promoted so that they are the easy choice. VCH and Sodexo are in close collaboration to bring retail food services that will become a model for best practice in the marketplace.
