New opportunity for Vancouver acute, tertiary mental health and addictions!

We are excited to announce that a new Experienced Resource Nurse Team (ERNT) will be created for the Vancouver Acute and Tertiary Mental Health and addictions team in March 2015. The ERNT is VCH’s new model for resource float pools and is being implemented in phases across VCH; the pool was first introduced at Richmond Hospital in November 2011 and at Lions Gate Hospital in June 2012.

What is the ERNT?

The ERNT is one component of VCH’s long term relief staffing strategy and was established to respond to VCH’s increasing relief needs, create more unit based positions for new nursing graduates and provide experienced float help on units.

A new DC2 ERNT role was created to attract and retain experienced nurses to the new resource pool where they will be providing relief for frontline nurses and mentoring less experienced staff and new grads. Nurses hired into the new position will receive six to eight weeks leadership/mentoring training and orientation to ensure they are successful in their new role and can start providing relief for the Acute and Tertiary Mental Health and Addictions Team by April 2015.

Interested in applying?

The new ERNT positions (21 FTEs) will be posted the week of September 29th – stay tuned! Interested RNs/RPNs who have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and are ready and eager to transition into a leadership position are encouraged to apply. Don’t miss out on this exciting new opportunity!
