Alberta patient raves about care received at LGH

I broke my pelvis in Whistler and was ultimately transferred to Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver.  This was my first experience as a patient in any hospital and I will say it was eye opening.  My friends and family were all in Alberta, my legs were incapacitated and I was in a moderate amount of pain.

The care that I received from the entire nursing team in the orthopaedic wing was excellent, and I have a new profound respect for what these men and women have to do on a daily basis.  As this was my first experience in a hospital, I can’t say I have any previous hospital experiences to compare it to.

I am a restaurant manager by trade, however, and I have been in restaurants for 15 years.  This means that I have an exceptional understanding of hospitality and making my guests feel special.  The level of hospitality that was shown, not only to myself but to the patients around me, was tremendous.  The patience, energy, enthusiasm, and genuine care shown by the whole team was inspiring.

Lastly, to name a few, I was taken care of by three student nurses during my stay; Sara, Alana & Dayna.  Smart and capable young ladies, they would eagerly dive in to tasks that would make most people stop dead in their tracks.

Thanks you very much.

Regards,
