CARESnet has expanded to include online prescription drug claims.

What this means

If you normally mail or drop off prescription drug claims to Pacific Blue Cross, you will now have the option to submit them online. Average turnaround time for online claims is 2-3 days. This does not replace pay-direct drug coverage. If your drug plan includes pay-direct, present your Pacific Blue Cross ID card to the pharmacist when filling your prescription. Eligible drug expenses and fees will be covered at point of sale.

How to submit an online drug claim:

1. Sign in to CARESnet using the Policy and ID numbers on your Pacific Blue Cross ID card
2. Click Submit a claim in the Claims tab
3. Choose Drugs button
4. Enter the claim details
5. Select the pharmacy or add pharmacy if it is not listed
6. Confirm direct deposit information and submit the claim

Keep your receipts

Keep your original receipts. CARESnet randomly selects online claims for receipt verification and you may be asked to provide proof of purchase.
