Pink Shirt Day is Feb 25: 2,000 t-shirts sold!
The Employee Engagement team gathered last week to kick-off their t-shirt sales for VCH’s ‘Respect Starts Here’ campaign to eliminate bullying in the workplace.
EE staff eagerly waited in line to purchase their VCH exclusive pink respect t-shirt to wear on Pink Shirt Day, now available for sale to all staff and physicians. “It’s great to see such enthusiasm from staff across VCH,” said Wayne Balshin, Executive Director of Employee Relations. “We have sold over 2,000 t-shirts in just over a week. This shows how committed our managers and staff are to changing the culture around bullying at VCH.”
Limited t-shirt sizes available
Employee Relations staff are working hard to confirm and fill your orders within 1-2 business days.
If you have received an email that your order is ready, please pick up your shirt by February 20. If you haven’t ordered your t-shirt yet, please note that we only have stock remaining in Style 2 and Style 3 in sizes L and XL. Style 1 is sold out.
Send us your team selfies and win!
Remember to wear your VCH respect t-shirt or your own pink shirt on Pink Shirt Day, February 25, to show your commitment to creating a climate of respect at VCH. Hint: be respectfully creative – the two best team photos will win a prize; a gift card to Rogue Restaurant or Craft Market for your next team gathering!
It works to report
Since the launch of the new Respectful Workplace program and no-bully line, we have received 590 requests for help and 265 complaints referred to HR for follow up have been resolved. A total of 43 employees and physicians have either received a letter of warning, suspension, termination, demotion or had their privileges revoked.
Remember, disrespectful behaviour will not stop on its own. You need to either have the conversation with the other person or report your concern to your manager or VCH’s No-Bully line: 1-844-NO BULLY (662 8559). Together, we can eliminate bullying at VCH.
More information on workplace bullying is available on the Employee Relations section of VCH Connect.
