TELUS paging services is ending soon
To date, we’ve replaced over 1,100 of the total 1,800 TELUS pagers across VCH and PHSA. While we’re making great headway at VCH, we still have slightly under 500 users (or 44% of our total users) that have not yet begun the transition process.
As we close in on March 31 and the volume of replacement requests increases, it’s going to take us longer to issue you a new device. So, we’re urging those of you with TELUS pagers to begin the pager replacement process as soon as possible to avoid service disruptions.
You can transition to a PageNet pager, use your health authority provisioned smartphone, or get a new health authority provisioned cellular flip phone or smartphone (upon approval from your manager or department head). Or, you can get rid of your pager altogether if you don’t use it.
How do you replace your pager?
1) Go to the IMITS Service Catalogue (http://servicecatalogue.healthbc.org/Pages/default.aspx), click on “I want to replace my TELUS pager” and complete the online request form. Note you must be on the network to view it.
2) Or, for PageNet pager replacement requests only, you can request a form (Excel spreadsheet) from the Project Team at TelusPagerReplacement@phsa.ca.
For those of you who have already replaced your TELUS pager, thank you! Be sure to complete the final few tasks outlined in the End User Checklist that you received with your new device or via email. And don’t forget to update your contact number in databases and directories, especially urgent call listings (if necessary).
