Celebrating their profession of choice, staff gathered for tea and cake.

Our “Profession of Choice” poster collage.

Home Health social work case managers in Vancouver Community celebrated Social Work (SW) Week – March 8-13, 2015 – at Pacific Spirit Community Health Centre. Registered social workers Dora Calvori, Jason Luey and Monique Davidson helped to promote awareness of the SW profession by hanging posters and holding a celebratory afternoon Tea and Raffle for all staff. The theme was “Profession of Choice”.

Pacific Spirit Health Unit manager David Graham, also a social worker by profession, shared some kind words on how valued and appreciated social workers are in community health. Cake and refreshments were served (thanks to the sponsorship of CUPE 15 Union), and the staff gathering provided the platform for other non-SWers to reflect upon why they chose their profession too. Responses were written on paper and, together, participants made a collage poster from it for public display.

Good job, Pacific Spirit! Happy Social Work Week 2015!
