Are you ready for the new normal?

To protect drivers, cyclists and pedestrians on the VGH campus, the Willow Street lane will be closed intermittently on a daily basis during construction of the — the Joseph & Rosalie Segal Family Health Centre (JRSFHC). Pedestrian passage on the sidewalk across the lane from the construction zone will remain open during closures.

The closures are necessary to protect everyone from the potential risk of falling debris. While our new crane loads the garbage bins as shown in the picture below, there’s a risk of debris falling outside the construction zone and hurting passersby.

To ensure everyone’s safety, the Willow Street lane will be closed when the crane is loading debris into these bins. The lane closures, while brief, will occur two to three times per day and will interrupt the flow of traffic through the VGH inner courtyard.

We recommend limiting your travel across the VGH inner courtyard and using alternate routes when possible. If you choose to pass through the inner courtyard, give yourself more time than usual to reach your destination on or off campus.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we build our new and much anticipated place of healing for mental health and addictions clients.
