An inspiring TedMed Talk that presents solutions
“The health care system is beginning to wake-up; to connect healing the earth and healing people, to accept and act on the core notion that you can’t have healthy people on a sick planet.”
These words were spoken by Robin Guenther in a recent TedMed Talk that encourages all of us to step back and see the full picture. She explores the connection between health and environmental design and advocates for healthier healing environments.

Robin Guenther is an architect Principal of Perkins+Will and Senior Advisor to Health Care Without Harm; she has co-coordinated the Green Guide for Health Care, and has served on the LEED for Healthcare committee. In this powerful TedMedTalk, which you can watch on the GreenCare site, she asks: “How do we move from a system that delivers health care, to one that creates actual health?”
Restorative Design
Robin presents Restorative Design as a positive opportunity to move from so-called solutions that degrade health and the environment, to true solutions that do no harm and heal some of the harm that we have already done. She says, “It’s about finding solutions that stop making us sick.”
This TedMedTalk is well worth watching and strongly aligned to our GreenCare Vision and work.
