In a letter of thanks to the ED staff at Lions Gate Hospital, a recent visitor praised the staff for their “kind, compassionate and quite efficient” care.

Staff Kudos: Patient gives props to Lions Gate Hospital ED staff

Dear Lions Gate Hospital:
I’m writing to offer some positive feedback about my recent experience in your emergency department from November 27 to December 1, 2015.

I had the misfortune of requiring daily intravenous antibiotics for five consecutive days. Consequently, I spent 2 hours a day in your emergency department – on the First Aid side of the ward. I could see that your emergency department employs some LEAN concepts on their huddle board, which was amazing to see that your hospital is forward thinking and looking to improve in efficiency. More importantly, all of the nursing staff were kind, compassionate and quite efficient in getting me in and out the hospital. Each day as I sat there with my IV dripping, I closely observed your staff doing the very best they could with, what appeared to be, limited people resources.

In particular, I would like to thank your Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Douglas, for his fine care and attention to my infection and to Rosemary, the wound care nurse, who was especially kind to me.

At any rate, I hope that you will pass my thanks along to all of your staff in emergency.

Kind regards,
Andria Ink
