Specialty RN training opportunities available now
Recruitment is underway for sponsorship in BCIT specialty nursing programs.
Selected RNs, with 2 years’ recent acute medical/surgical experience, will be fully funded to take courses preparing them to work in a Critical Care, Emergency or Perinatal unit at one of four hospitals. This intake will have nurses doing prerequisite online work during this coming spring and summer, and start full-time training in fall 2016. Recruitment for these opportunities usually occurs three times per year. Unit specific postings are up now. Do your research! If you’re considering a specialty training opportunity, don’t just apply for everything. Think carefully about which unit is right for you. Some units are willing to host shadow shifts to give potential trainees a feel for the area. Contact the unit manager or educator. See VCH Connect for videos that appeared in VCH News during Nursing Week in 2013, highlighting specific specialties. More information on the programs, expectations, and screening criteria can also be found on VCH Connect. Apply now! Search the e-posting page with the keywords “Training Opportunity,” and remember you must include a cover letter and resume with your application. |
