New Saving$ for Fraser Valley Commuters to the VGH Campus
Save on gas and the environment by joining a carpool group! To help facilitate carpooling match-ups, IPS and the VGH Commuter Centre are hosting a series of area-based, Carpool Meet & Greet events: this January we begin with the Fraser Valley.
Staff living in the Fraser Valley and working at/near VGH are invited to consider carpooling one or more days per week.
Keep reading if you think that carpooling to/from work could:
- get you a better parking spot,
- save money on gas, parking or tolls,
- give you access to the HOV lanes,
- free up some commuting time for texting or social media,
- reduce wear-and-tear on your car,
- save time in your commute ,
- or reduce the stress of driving alone.
Participation is optional, so why not give it a try? The more people that sign up, the better the odds that you will find your Carpool BFF. (Yes, of course you can sign up then later change your mind for a no-hassle opt-out.)
To begin, complete the attached “FV to VGH Carpool sign-up” form and send it to the VGH Commuter Centre. Then join us for light refreshments on Tues. Jan 19th 3:30 to 5pm at the FV to VGH Carpool Meet & Greet in the Paetzold Multipurpose Room.
At that time we will layout an anonymous database of interested staff according to three departure points:
a) Chilliwack (downtown),
b) Abbotsford (McCallum pick-up/drop off), or
c) Langley (Carvolth Exchange)
