I just wanted to let you know that I brought my seven-week-old son into the ED recently, and ended up spending two nights in the pediatric short stay unit.

I waited only 10 mins in the emergency department before being seen and taken in. We had two very competent and kind nurses in the ED – Mark and Jeff.  Both of them were skillful and great with my little guy.

We were then taken to the very lovely pediatric short stay unit. We saw quite a few nurses, but the two that stand out are Eric (I think he was an ED nurse that was doing break relief) and Jen (a new grad RN currently doing her pediatric emergency training). I was very impressed with the level of care that we received. I appreciated how honest Jen was when she was unsure about something and would bring in another RN or RT to give a second opinion. The RT, Stephanie, was fabulous. She was very professional and also extremely gentle and sweet with my son. I was grateful for the personable care – Jen and Eric really took the time to get to know my family and make us feel comfortable.
