Trauma Distinction Accreditation: Feb 22 to 25

Accreditation Canada Trauma Distinction is taking place from February 22 to 25.

Accreditation Canada’s new Trauma Distinction process is coming to the Regional Trauma Program in February 2016. The Regional Trauma System includes Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), Providence Health Care (PHC), and BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH).

Surveyors will be evaluating the Trauma System and individual Trauma Centres during the dates of February 22 to 25, 2016. All trauma centres will be assessed for their compliance with level specific trauma centre standards, protocols, and indicators. Surveyors will be completing trauma tracers following the journey of a trauma patient at Vancouver General Hospital, Lions Gate Hosptial, Saint Paul’s Hospital, and BCCH in addition to a number of focused discussion groups. The regional trauma program is also presenting an Excellence & Innovation project focusing on care of the pregnant trauma patient.
