According to one patient’s wife, a ready smile, positive attitude and helpful tips help draw a picture. We received the following letter praising Gerald Dyer, a VGH RN who’s bringing our People First commitment to life every day. Congratulations, Gerald!

To the Head of Nursing for Gastroenterology,

I am writing to commend Gerald Dyer, a staff nurse on T9B, for the excellent nursing care he provided to my husband Simon during his recent stay at VGH.

Gerald is a very knowledgeable and efficient nurse, and has excellent bedside manner. He took the time to discuss my husband’s new diagnosis with my husband and me, and also provided us with a list of recommended books on the subject.

Gerald made my husband’s hospital stay a more positive one for both my husband and me. It was a pleasure to see his smiling face on the gastroenterology ward every day, where he no doubt makes significant contributions daily to patient care.
