New enhanced incident investigation tool for managers
A new Incident Investigation Tool (IIT) has been developed to better support managers when completing incident investigations for workplace injuries of staff. Manager feedback was gathered and used to enhance this tool, and it will be utilized by all health authorities in B.C.
The tool has also been enhanced to support the recent change in WorkSafeBC legislation which requires Managers to complete and submit incident investigations within 48 hours.
The new IIT is being rolled out across the province of BC between May 2nd and May 13th, 2016. Vancouver Coastal Health began using the new tool on May 3rd, 2016.
Managers can access the tool at https://white.vch.ca/iit/ and through the link they receive in incident notification emails from the Workplace Health Call Centre. NOTE: only VCH excluded management, and delegates that managers assign through the system, will be able to access the tool.
Some features of the new tool include:
- Personalized Manager Dashboards
- Ability to initiate incident reports and subsequent investigations outside of Workplace Health Call Centre hours.
- Ability to assign delegates to lead and complete investigations
- Update and upload information and supporting documents
- View & print reports
