Worklife and Patient Safety Culture Survey complete
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the VCH 2016 Accreditation Canada Worklife and Patient Safety Culture Survey. The survey closed on Friday May 27, your feedback is in (about 1500 strong!), and the results are being compiled for VCH overall as well as each Community of Care.
Summary of results coming
This is an important tool required by Accreditation Canada in preparation for our upcoming site visit in September 2016. An overall summary report rolling up all of VCH is being compiled, and will be shared with VCH leadership as well as our team of Accreditation Canada surveyors in preparation for our September 2016 site visit. Stay tuned for highlights of common themes from the survey results in upcoming VCH News!
Strategies for improvement
VCH leadership will then have opportunities during the accreditation site visit to discuss strategies and initiatives for improving the work environment and culture of safety, based on what we have learned over time from this survey and its previous iterations.
The results from this survey will continue to provide valuable information well beyond the accreditation site visit. In particular, over 50 teams across VCH were able to get sufficient numbers of responses to get their own local set of results. These will be compiled over time and distributed after the accreditation site visit, to continue to inform local opportunities for improvement going forward.
More information
VCH is hosting a team of 22 Accreditation Canada surveyors between September 18-23, 2016, who will visit teams across our Communities of Care and continuum.
