Congratulations to CEAN member Patricia Porterfield
Congratulations to CEANer Patricia Porterfield who received an Alumni Recognition Award at the 6th Annual UBC Nursing Alumni and Partnerships Awards Gala on May 4th, 2017! Pat was formerly the Regional Leader of Palliative Care at Vancouver Coastal Health and was one of the people who helped to support the formation of the Award-Winning CEAN Advance Care Planning Facilitation Team. After retiring, Pat took some time off to sail around the world a bit, and then came back to VCH as a CEAN volunteer! She is now part of the CEAN Advance Care Planning Facilitation Team, delivering workshops on the North Shore to educate the public on ACP.
Pat is also still very involved in palliative care, sitting on various committees and working with the BC Centre for Palliative Care. Her dedication continues – read more about Pat’s impressive accomplishments here. I’m sure you will agree that she is very deserving of this award! Thank you Pat for your generous contributions to nursing, palliative care, advance care planning and CEAN! What a great way to celebrate Nursing Week and National Hospice Palliative Care Week!
