New online addiction medicine diploma

As the number of overdoses continues to grow, an online course is now available for anyone in health care to learn more about substance use and addiction.

The Online Addiction Medicine Diploma is a free certificate course developed by the British Columbia Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU). The diploma is targeted at health care professionals interested in learning more about providing care to patients with alcohol, tobacco, and opioid substance use disorders. The course is also open for anyone wishing to improve their knowledge of substance use and addiction.

This course will take approximately 16 hours to complete. There are 17 modules with knowledge testing questions throughout. It is self-paced, so users can design a study schedule that works best for them.

Oh no! We will ask the BCCSU but in the meantime, hopefully you can try using Firefox or Chrome, as it functions best on those browsers.

BCCSU did have some server issues last week but they are fixed now. VCH’s firewall could also be blocking the site. if the problem continues for you you may want to try using a non-VCH computer.

I went to the website and when I click on any of the FAQ’s, instead of opening with an answer, the question simply disappears! Is this just a temporary glitch?
