CEAN Member receives Governor General’s Medal for Volunteers

On June 7, 2017 North shore Community Engagement Advisory Network (CEAN) member Sandra Dawson received the Governor General of Canada’s Sovereign Medal for Volunteers for her work in various initiatives to help others living with mental health issues.

Sandra’s accomplishments

Sanda created the website Unsuicide Online Suicide Help, a directory of online and mobile suicide prevention resources and supports.The award was presented to Sandra by the Lieutenant Governor of BC, Judith Guichon. Sandra has been a member of CEAN since early 2013 and has participated on many projects providing patient/public perspective. We would like to congratulate Sandra on receiving this well-deserved honor!
