Sunshine Coast residents get behind the scenes look at new St. Mary’s Tower
If you’re a VCH employee on the Sunshine Coast, you’ll have heard the buzz around the community already about the new St. Mary’s Hospital Tower opening in just over two weeks on March 25!
What’s even better then the excitement around the opening itself is the opportunity for everyone in the community to go on a guided tour of one of the most state-of-the-art health care facilities in the province before it opens its doors to patients. The St. Mary’s Hospital open house takes place:
Wednesday, March 20
1:30 – 4 pm
Prior to the public open house on this day, Sunshine Coast staff and our closest stakeholders will be on hand for a celebratory reception and tour of the new building. Key features of the new facility include:
- St. Mary’s will be the first hospital in VCH to feature single patient rooms, which provide the highest standard of infection control.
- Supplies for each patient will be kept in a locked cupboard in each room, meaning nurses will spend less time searching for supplies.
- St. Mary’s has been constructed to the highest standards of patient safety and environmental design, and is outfitted with some of the best medical technology on the market today.
Nurse Server stations in the new St. Mary’s Tower are an important part of the new facility as they will enable the care givers to spend less time searching for supplies and more time delivering patient care
