Routine HIV testing in Vancouver acute care facilities was launched in September 2011 as part of the STOP/HIV AIDS project. Between October 2011 and September 31, 2012 more than 6,000 tests were completed at the four Vancouver hospitals, four times higher than the same time period in 2011. Overall, more than 25 new HIV diagnoses were made in Vancouver hospitals through September 2012. The acceptance rate is equally compelling, with 94% of eligible patients accepting an HIV test when offered.
This is a follow-up survey to one in 2011.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated. If you’d like a copy of the survey results, please email anathoo@providencehealth.bc.ca to be put on the distribution list.
We would like to thank you again for your leadership and support in this initiative.
