The dedicated 3 South staff
As a Regional Hand Hygiene Auditor, I would like to share with you my experience on 3 South when I performed my monthly audits for February 2013.
While I was on the unit, I recognized several hand-hygiene champions, including a new recruit and I must comment that they were certainly exceptional with their hand hygiene. They were performing hand hygiene after AND before entering a room and when gloving and de-gloving. 3 South was in the midst of an outbreak and it was very comforting to see that the security guard and the unit clerk were very proactive in reminding visitors and any staff entering and leaving to perform hand hygiene.
Overall, I would like to give credit to the staff and leadership on 3 South for their outstanding commitment to hand hygiene.
