On Saturday, January 26th, VCH will be teaming up with 2010 Olympic gold medalist Ashleigh McIvor to launch Your Call, a smoking-prevention campaign for active 15 to19 year olds.
As the campaign’s athlete ambassador, Ashleigh will be attending the campaign launch, which will be held at Guest Services at the base of Mount Seymour.
Ashleigh will be taking pictures with participants and will be providing a short skills lesson to skiers. As part of the campaign, Ashleigh is also featured on a chairlift advertisement on Mount Seymour to promote the need to keep our local mountains free of second-hand smoke.
All VCH staff are welcome to attend this free event. If you work with youth, please mention this event to them.
The Your Call website will be a one-stop shop for youth to find resources and information to help them make their own call on tobacco.
