Standardized bed make-up policy launched in VCH
The Provincial Support Services Technical Team Steering Committee has approved a standardized bed make-up policy that is now applicable across the lower mainland and across B.C.
The standard bed make up policy was originally developed and socialized throughout the Lower Mainland by the Business Initiatives and Support Services Lower Mainland Linen & Laundry Services Team in the summer of 2012 in conjunction with the roll out of the Slider Sheet program.
The policy was expanded by the Provincial Laundry Services Technical Team and recently approved by the Provincial Support Services Technical Team Steering Committee.
It establishes a common provincial procedure for the appropriate application and utilization of bed linen products when preparing standard patient care beds and to ensure the comfort and safety of staff and patients.
The policy is applicable to all internal clinical or support services staff and/or contracted staff directly involved with preparing beds for patient use.
The policy can be viewed on VCH Connect by searching for “Standardized Bed Make-Up Policy”.
