CST Project Update: Preparing for transformation
The CST Project team spent the past few weeks establishing processes and structures to ensure this transformation initiative is clinically driven and patient focused. The focus of the work has included developing the clinical vision, governance structures, and strategies for how best to engage the clinicians and staff who are driving this design effort. We will ultimately adopt the new processes and tools to deliver consistent, high quality care to our patients.
Thank you to everyone who attended the recent Cerner functionality demonstrations. Your interest and questions were appreciated and reflected what this project is all about: a clinical transformation. The demos provided an opportunity for clinicians to see the potential of a transformation that is clinically driven and IT enabled. This is one of the first steps in an ongoing effort to engage staff and clinicians from all health organizations in the CST project. Your involvement is vital in shaping the tools and processes that will help enable consistent care across all sites and services.
Zynx is a commercially available, evidence-based order set and care planning content management tool. It offers a starter set of evidence-based content and has been adapted to the Canadian health system by Cerner users in Ontario. PHSA, VCH, and PHC have purchased Zynx to work in complement with the design and build of the Cerner system and support the goal of evidenced-informed best practice across the three Health Organizations. Demonstrations of this tool have been set up for the following date and times:
Zynx Demos Tuesday, July 16
- 9:30am – 10:50 am, BCCA, Gordon and Leslie Diamond Family Theatre, 600 W. 10th Ave.
