March is Pharmacy Awareness Month!  Pharmacy Awareness Month is an annual, national event that celebrates the profession of pharmacy and recognizes the many ways in which pharmacists and pharmacy technicians collectively contribute to the care, health and wellness of patients.

The pharmacy departments within Vancouver Coastal Health sites are staffed with dispensary and clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants. Each pharmacy team member plays an active role to ensure that both inpatients and outpatients receive safe, effective and appropriate medication therapy.

Participating hospital pharmacy sites will be organizing various activities to recognize Pharmacy Awareness Month.  These may include a promotional campaign, information booths, pharmacist-led presentations, or organized speakers for hospital rounds.
