Patient Experience Week 2014

YOU are the patient experience!

Thank you for all the things you do every day, big and small, direct or indirect, to create the best patient experience.

Next week, April 28-May 2, is Patient Experience Week to honour the difference you make in the patient experience. Patient Experience Week is an annual event introduced by the Beryl Institute to recognize that every day, clinical and non-clinical staff, physicians and volunteers across health care make a difference in the lives of patients, clients, residents and their loved ones.

We know that when we partner with patients, we don’t just improve their experience, we also improve their health outcomes.

Curious about patient experience at VCH?

Partners in Care is VCH’s commitment to every patient, client, resident, as well as to their loved one. This commitment stems directly from our People First Lens, to ensure that we develop relationships that are helpful, considerate, safe and contribute to positive outcomes.

Since 2003, VCH has also taken part in a number of surveys of our patients’ experiences in various sectors of care including surveys of:

  • The Emergency Department
  • Acute inpatient care
  • Residential care
  • Outpatient cancer care
  • Short-stay mental health and substance use

Get results for each of these surveys on the Quality Patient Care portal and on the Patient Experience Sharepoint site.
